What families and support teams often say
Every diver and family is different, but these are the kinds of comments we aim for: calm, supported experiences that feel achievable and meaningful.
“Our son has always loved the water but found busy public sessions overwhelming. The paced, one-to-one approach meant he could focus on each skill without feeling rushed. Watching him breathe underwater for the first time was something we’ll never forget.”
“From the first phone call it was clear that the focus was on what our client could do, not on their limitations. The pre-planning, safety focus and detailed follow-up made it easy to incorporate into their broader goals and support plan.”
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to be a strong swimmer?
Not necessarily. We’ll talk through swimming ability and comfort levels before your first session. Many adaptive divers start with very short, shallow experiences and build up gradually.
Can you work with my existing support team?
Yes. We’re happy to involve family, carers, therapists and support coordinators so that everyone understands the plan, goals and boundaries for each session.
What about medical conditions?
Some conditions require assessment or clearance from a diving doctor, especially where breathing, heart health or certain medications are involved. We can explain what’s typically needed so you can speak with your health professionals.
Is this suitable for people who experience anxiety?
For many people, yes. We move slowly, keep communication clear and always offer a way to pause or stop. We’ll talk about triggers and coping strategies before we get in the water so we can build them into the plan.
Do you only train in Perth?
Practical in-water sessions take place in and around Perth, WA. However, the skills and confidence you build are designed to help you dive safely at suitable locations worldwide, whether that’s a local shore dive or a future holiday destination.
Can adaptive divers become PADI certified?
In many cases, yes. Our PADI Certified Adaptive Techniques Instructors can help you explore pathways towards PADI courses and, where appropriate, progress all the way to professional levels. This always depends on medical clearance, safety considerations and your individual goals.
